Uploading files, images and logos

Good evening !

The whole of last week i have been working on uploading files, images and logos on my wiki and i must say it has been easy especially after our last class with Thea. The information she gave us in class came in very handy. i managed to upload some useful documents on my wiki. The logo i found on the Internet was perfect and it gave my wiki that proffessional look but to my dissappointment, when i logged-in again to look at it, i find that the logo was not there maybe because i did not save it properly. i know that everytime i make some changes on my wiki i need to save. I think i am still doing something wrong.
If anyone knows what i must do, PLEASE can you tell me what i need to do. i also need to prepare other documents and for a change i want to upload a PowerPoint presentation. I have taken Thea's advice very seriously-to regularly login to my wiki, play around, explore and learn more about the commands. This exercise makes it easy for me to know where to go when i want to add something however i would appreciate to learn more about what you have also discovered by playing around.

Blank blog and wiki templates

Good day everyone !

Yesterday i had to go to the library on campus and stay there the whole day. I wanted to work on my wiki but the more i tried the more confused i was. Firstly i wanted to choose a template for my wiki but in vain succeed.
All i could see was a list of things- company policies, directory and many others.
I do not know whether these are the templates, again i did not know how these can be applied to my wiki. i read the instructions but could'nt understand a word. "tagging the template"- all the jargon used in the instructions made no sense to me at all.

Again i wanted to send a comment to my classmates, hoping to get help but when i opened my blog, it was blank, i couldn't recognise the blog at all. Strange thing is when i clicked on "view blog" i saw my blog- the template i choose, the postings and everything but when i go to post a comment, the screen just froze, the template i used disappered and everything was a mess. i was frustrated.

Today i logged on to my blog to see if this is still the case and i am suprised to find my blog looking fine but the problem is a posting that is incomplete due to the problems i experienced yesterday ! it's title is "wiki template". There are no comments available, just the title. I wanted to delete it and do it afresh, but i am still struggling with that. Atleast i am relieved to find my blog looking fine.

Who owns the field of KM ?

I am studying Knowledge Management and currently work as a librarian, but i always worry that i might not be able to practise in this field. My worry is that i do not have the IT /IS expertise required for me to work as a knowedge manager. I can not design KM sytems, wikis, blog etc. Recently i attended an intensive course organised by the University of the Western Cape, University of Stellenbosch (2 South African universities), University of Namibia and Finnish Univesities and i am glad i did. I learned a lot, now i know that KM is still an emerging field and that some of the tools and prococesses used to manage knowldge have been borrowed from ther fields of study. Social networking from sociology, e.t.c and that i can still make a contribution. My favourite qout is “…while librarianship is practiced by librarians, knowledge management is practised by the knowledge community…” meaning that anyone can work as a knowledge manager. as long you have the neccessary skills and competencies you are capable of managing knowledge.
The CEO of a company called "Knowledge crusade"-based in South Africa, was amongst the speakers and he did a knowledge engineering course with the university of Cape Town and he boosted my confiodence even more when he told us that "...librarians are more capable of doing this job..." we have the training and the necessary skills. i guess i just need to be change my attitude and enjoy the ride....
