The decision to create a new wiki was the best decision i have ever made, i couldn' edit my wiki. Everytime i tried to edit it, it gave me an error message that "the browser shut down while editing the page, then i was either forced to continue editing the page or forced to delete the page. nut either way, i could not save the changes. i was so anxious because the due date was in a few hours. i collaborated with Mapule and my lecturer who also acknowledged that the free pbwiki version we are using is giving us a lot of problems so i made the decision to start a new wiki. This was not easy because the pbwikiteam didn't expect me to choose anotherfree version this time around, it took me straight to the page where i must put in my banking details but ultimately i managed to create a new wiki.
The biggest mistake i made was to copy from the old wiki to paste on the new wiki, what happened is, everytime i edited on the wiki or when i clicked on the links it took me back to the old wiki. i would then spend hours and hours editing the old wiki, not knowing that i am working on the old wiki, instead of the new one. It was only today when i realised my error butfortunately i could rectify it on time but unfortunately the time i have wasted can never be returned.
Thank you Thea for the extension, atleast i could manage to do a thing or two even though i still feel i could have done better than this !
To my classmates, thank you it was a real fun collaborating and sharing ideas, insights and knowledge with you. I hope we can continue doing this even with our research proposals and the final reasearch projects. THANK YOU

WEB 2.0 WORKSHOP
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THEA AND THE ENTIRE LIASA TEAM (THE INTERST GROUP OF SPECIAL LIBRARIANS/INFORMATION WORKERS/KNOWLEDGE MANAGERS) WHO GRANTED US PERMISSION TO ATTEND THE WEB 2.0 WORKSHOP ON WEDNESDAY, IT WAS VERY INTERESTING AND I LEARNED A LOT. THE PRESENTER WAS FUNNY, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND WAS VERY KEEN TO SHARE HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THESE TECHNOLOGIES WITH US. I WAS SO IMPRESSED, INFACT I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY LUCK. I ALSO GOT THE CHANCE TO INTERACT WITH OTHER PROFESSIONALS WHO SHARED THE SAME INTERESTS AS ME, WE SHARED IDEAS AND INSIGHTS ABOUT OUR CHANGING CAREERS AND THE SKILLS WE NEEDED TO ACQUIRE TO MAKE IT IN THIS FIELD OF INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT.

I cannot believe that after weeks of working on this project i feel so helpless, This shouldn't be the case because i took this project very seriously. Today i spent more than 8 hours working on my wiki but all in vain, I was hoping to finish my links and taxonomies and so work i spent most of my time trying to structure the documents and just the whole content of my wiki.
After all the hard work, my computer gave me a message that read " someone has stolen your lock and so you will not be able to save the changes you have made on the wiki"- i felt like dying !
After work i went on campus hoping to do some damage control and still i have not managed to rectify the problems i am experiencing with the wiki. I am so so so stressed and tired. i think someone is illegally viewing and editing my wiki without my knowledge. If anyone can look at the visits i made on my wiki, they will definately agree with me (According to the information on my wiki, i have visited my wiki more than 500 times, this is highly impossible considering the fact that i did not have Internet access for more than three weeks due to the break-in at work. I want to believe that whoever is doing this to me, is trying to sabotage my project, which is not nice at all.
I will try again tomorrow but i don't see how i will be able to finish everything before the dead-line- midnight.

Putting slides on your blog
Mapule i am not not sure if the information i am about to give you will help you put in a slide on your blog because i can not remember clearly how i managed to do it. i was playing around so it happened by chance.
Go to customize, and click on your settings and layout settings , there are options there where you can click and choose if you want to have a slide show on your blog, but the thing is since i already have one, my blog only shows me only an option to "edit" not "create" a slide show. There are templates readily available for you so you don't have to create one. Please try this and send me a posting to tell me if you have managed to do it !

Sharing ideas, insights and knowledge through social interventions !
Last saturday me and and my classmates decided to meet in the library. The purpose was to share our insights, ideas and knowledge about the wiki project. This happened to be the best thing for me and my class-mates as we all benefited a lot from this exercise. We didn't have enough time because some of us had to work and join the other later but the two hours we had was so fruitful, i just wish we did this from the very onset.
For the first time in my student life i never worked with a group of people who are so passionate about their studies and who are always keen to share their knowledge with others. In most cases we (students) tend to compete against each other and we keep what we know to ourselves because we want to be "tops" in class- Last Saturday we helped each other and managed to get something done. We still intend to meet again this Saturday and i am certain that when the library closes at 17HOO we will all say " we have managed to achieve something out of it !"
Mapule and Ncumisa let's keep it up ! Let's show the others that we are not just doing knowledge management for the fun of it, we know what is expected from us, collaboration and sharing:)

Now how do i put in taxonomies, Any takes ?
Good Evening to you all !
My last week has been more about conceptualising the content of the wiki and for a change i decided not to concentrate more on the look (customising the wiki) and i must say i made progress, atleast in my own terms.
I still hope to come up with more creative ideas though. At last i managed to upload some PowerPoint presentation i had in mind. I still need to figure out a way of putting on the links and taxonomies so that it can be easy for me and other people using the wiki to find the useful inforamtion easy and quickly I want to have the information arranged in a systematic manner that will link all the documents that contain similar content together.
To my disappointment i couldn't upload more than two documents in the document repository and as a result i have two pages that serve as my document repositories, i am still not sure whether it is possible for me to have only one repository that stores all my documents.
Please i need your guidance and input on this one.

Uploading files, images and logos
Good evening !
The whole of last week i have been working on uploading files, images and logos on my wiki and i must say it has been easy especially after our last class with Thea. The information she gave us in class came in very handy. i managed to upload some useful documents on my wiki. The logo i found on the Internet was perfect and it gave my wiki that proffessional look but to my dissappointment, when i logged-in again to look at it, i find that the logo was not there maybe because i did not save it properly. i know that everytime i make some changes on my wiki i need to save. I think i am still doing something wrong.
If anyone knows what i must do, PLEASE can you tell me what i need to do. i also need to prepare other documents and for a change i want to upload a PowerPoint presentation. I have taken Thea's advice very seriously-to regularly login to my wiki, play around, explore and learn more about the commands. This exercise makes it easy for me to know where to go when i want to add something however i would appreciate to learn more about what you have also discovered by playing around.
