Creating a wikki

Good day to you all !

I have always been intersted in creating a wikki and more than anything i was dying to see how it looks like. My chance came when our lecturer showed us an axample of a wikki that was created by a librarian.
This wikki is like a space where librarians can share knowledge and collaborate, it provides answers to questions and solutions to challanges we encounter in the day-to-day running of the library and information service.

I must say though i was very anxious when i was given the task to create my own wikki, my thoughts were " i'm a capable of creating this work of art"
To my suprise creating a wikki was hussle free, i had to fill in a "thing" that looked more like an online application form, and it needed just simple information about me. Our lecturer gave us an idea of how we should name our wikki's and so task was easy,
After the creation process was completed i had to go to my gmail account and check the message sent to me by the pbwikki team. The message prompted me to click the link, and by doing so i will be activating my wikki and i will also get access to my wikki. This is where i started to experience problems.
When clicking on the link i got a message that read
" This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effort on this computer. Please contact the systems administrator"

Fortunately for me i had struggled to open my e-mail in this same workstation and so without wasting time i just decided to use another computer.

I could'nt agree more with Ncumisa's statement that " as much as computers are enablers in the knowledge management processes, they can also be barriers" because now i realised that for me to be able to interact with my classmates i needed to go and look for another "unoccupied " computer workstation. Something that can take me more than a lifetime in our libary which is always busy...
